NRI arrested on charges of fatally wounding  Marathon runner Fauja Singh

Jalandhar, July 16 (UNI) A Non Resident Indian (NRI) named Amritpal Singh Dhillon has been arrested on charges of fatally wounding 114-year-old marathon runner Fauja Singh.
On July 14 a Fortuner SUV hit Fauja Singh while he was crossing the road, Singh later succumbed to his injuries at a hospital.
Dhillon, the accused, is a NRI from Canada, and a resident of Dasupur village in Kartarpur. He arrived in India eight days ago and has now been taken into custody.
The Fortuner car involved in the accident has also been seized. Dhillon has confessed to the crime, stating that he was alone at the time of the incident and was traveling from Bhogpur towards Kishangarh.
An FIR has been registered at the Adampur police station. The accused's interrogation is ongoing.

Jind, Jul 16 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Thursday reviewed preparations at Jind Railway Station ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the state on July 17, during which the Prime Minister is scheduled to flag off India's first hydrogen-powered train and inaugurate several key development projects.
After inspecting the venue, the Chief Minister said Haryana was fully prepared to witness the historic occasion.
