NSE listed companies’ market capitalisation surpasses USD 5 trn

Hyderabad, May 23 (UNI) The market capitalisation of Indian listed companies on NSE surpassed USD five trillion (Rs 416.57 trillion) on Thursday.
The top five companies by market capitalisation are Reliance Industries Limited, TATA Consultancy Services Limited, HDFC Bank Limited, ICICI Bank Limited and Bharti Airtel Limited.
On the same day, the Nifty 50 Index touched an all-time high of 22,993.60 points. The Nifty 500 index also touched an all-time high of 21,505.25 points, indicating that growth in equity market is not restricted to only the large, capitalised stocks.
The journey of market capitalization of Indian listed companies from USD two trillion (July 2017) to USD three trillion (May 2021) took about 46 months, USD three trillion to USD four trillion (December 2023) took about 30 months and the latest USD one trillion addition took only about six months, the NSE said in a release.
