NSUI Demands Central University for Andaman and Nicobar Islands

State President of NSUI, M.A Sajid has written to the Lt. Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands in this regard and has opposed the proposed setting up of a Deemed University, which was announced by the Prime Minister during his visit to the Islands in December 2018.
Sajid stated in his letter that there are currently seven degree colleges functioning in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, which are affiliated with Pondicherry Central University.
He argued that there is no logic in the move of the Andaman and Nicobar Administration to set up a Deemed University when the existing colleges in the Islands have the power to offer more valuable degrees through a Central University at a low fee structure.
