Odisha’s exotic mangoes hog limelight at Bhubaneswar Conference

Bhubaneswar, May 19 (UNI) From the ruby-red “Similton Sundari” of Mayurbhanj to the premium Japanese Miyazaki variety priced at over Rs 1,000 per kg, Odisha’s vibrant mango diversity turned heads at the ongoing zonal conference in Bhubaneswar on Monday.
The colourful exhibition, organised by the Directorate of Horticulture in collaboration with Agriculture Production Clusters (APCs) and agri-entrepreneurs, showcased nearly 35 to 40 mango varieties sourced from different districts of Odisha as well as the Central Horticultural Experiment Station.
Among the major attractions was the striking red-hued Similton Sundari mango from Mayurbhanj, which drew widespread attention from visitors and delegates alike. Equally fascinating was the globally popular Miyazaki mango, known for its hefty market price and rare quality.
