Odisha Vigilance seizes 1 kg gold and huge assets from MVI during raid

Bhubaneswar, Aug 4 (UNI) The Odisha Vigilance today arrested a Motor Vehicle Inspector (MVI) for possessing disproportionate assets, including one kilogram of gold, substantial cash, land holdings, and a significant amount of bank deposits.
The accused, Golap Chandra Hansdah, currently posted in Boudh district, was taken into custody after raids conducted at multiple locations revealed extensive unaccounted assets.
According to the Vigilance Directorate, the seizures included a multi-storey building, 44 land plots, gold weighing 1 kg (including two 50-gram biscuits), over two kg of silver, cash exceeding Rs 2.38 lakh and bank and insurance deposits worth over Rs.1.34 crore.
