Lucknow, Aug 12 (UNI) Taking a jibe at the 'work efficiency' of the Uttar Pradesh government, Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav said that the Chief Minister had instructed that beds be increased in the hospitals many times but the officials were not listening.
In a statement issued here, Mr Yadav said that the coronavirus infection was rapidly increasing in the state, and the condition of Lucknow especially remains worrisome. The state government has not been able to make any policy to tackle this epidemic, he added.
He claimed that had the officials followed the government's directions and reserved the COVID beds in compliance with the ability at PGI, KGMU and Lohia, the picture would have been different. The number of coronavirus patients is increasing in the city. The state capital recorded 831 new patients on Tuesday, he said.
