Opposition slams Maharashtra 's public safety bill, plans protest

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Sep 8 (UNI) The opposition has launched a strong resistance against the Public Safety Bill introduced by the Maharashtra government, which aims to prevent anarchy and "urban Naxalism" in society. Congress city president Sheikh Yousuf announced today in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar that protests are being held across the state against this legislation.
A meeting of Maha Vikas Aghadi and various social organizations was conducted in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar to prepare for a massive protest. Sheikh Yousuf informed that the Public Safety Anti-Action Committee will stage a protest in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar on September 10.
The meeting witnessed participation from numerous political representatives including MP Dr. Kalyan Kale, Congress Seva Dal state president; Vilas Awtalay, district president; Kiran Patil Dongaonkar, city president; Sheikh Yousuf, CPI's Ram Baheti, Abhay Taksal, CPI(M)'s Bhagwan Bhojane, Indian Dalit Panther's Ramesh bhai Khandagale, Shetkri Kamgar Paksh (SHKAP)'s Professor Uma Kant Rathod, Lal Nishan Party's Comrade Bhimrao Bansud, Teachers Union's Subhash Mehr, Samajwadi Party's Ayub Khan, Mahanagar's Faisal Raju and Vaidya, along with many other representatives.
