Over 28,000 vacant govt jobs filled, 1 lakh jobs created in private sector: Odisha CM

Bhubaneshwar, Aug 15 (UNI) The Odisha government has resolved to fill up as many as 85,000 vacant posts in government departments in two years in an attempt to create employment for jobseekers and increase efficiency in governance, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said on Friday during the celebration of 79th Independence Day in Bhubaneswar.
In the last 6-7 months, more than 60 industries have been set up in Odisha, and an investment of more than Rs 1.8 lakh crore has been made. This has led to the creation of more than 1 lakh jobs, he said.
Stating that adequate manpower is crucial to increase efficiency in the government sector, Majhi said special emphasis is being laid on creating employment scope for youths and filling up the vacant government jobs.
