Over fifty lakh voters in UP suspected to have names registered at more than one polling station

Lucknow, Nov 8 (UNI) The revision of the voter list, comprising 12 crore voters, for the 2026 Panchayat elections in Uttar Pradesh is proving to be a difficult task for the State Election Commission.
Sources within the Commission say that officials suspect that there are over 50 lakh voters in the state whose names appear at more than one polling station.
According to a senior official, the State Election Commission has so far identified over 12 lakh fake voters and removed 1.63 lakh names from the Panchayat voter list.
