Shimla, Jan 28 (UNI) Amid nation-wide protest by the right wing organisations on the fourth day of release of Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone's Pathan film was drawing crowds as it was screened in all the major theatres of Himachal Pradesh.
Arun Kumar who watched the 'Pathan' at SRS CinemasTutikandi ISBT Shimla said the house was booked to its full capacity on Friday. He said he enjoyed the Pathan along with his family members which was released in ISBT and Shahi Cinema in Shimla.
In others theatres of the state, Pathan has been secreened in Dharmshala and Palampur Cinema halls also recorded good footfalls during the last three days. With the change in power in the state government, there are minor voices against the screening of film as call of Protest drew negligible response in the state. In a major development , the state left affiliated Student Federation of India decided to screen BBC documentary on Modi on Godhara roits today at Himachal Pradesh University campus after the government of India curbed its screening in the country enacting emergency clause to allow its release in India.
The BBC documentary is already available on Social media platform, however, Government of India has announced to ban it. Social media platform didn't respond to the directions of union government and with screening of documentary at many universities campus including JNU and Hyderabad University. In non -BJP ruled states, there is hardly any response on the call of such pro-rightest protest on both films.
In last year's Assembly Election Congress government got thumping majority in Himachal Pradesh. New Chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu termed this victory a major defeat of pro-Hindu Political outfit despite state having around 97 percent Hindu population. Rahul Gandhi Bharat Jodo Yatra also entered in Himachal Pradesh which crossed Indora Assembly Constituency and Nadaun Assembly.
Interestingly, the Rahul Gandhi Yatra was organised in religious polarized Assembly Constituency Indora as riots also broke out among minority and majority community few years ago on a land dispute.
