PIL filed in Allahabad High Court against demolitions in Bareilly after violence

Prayagraj, Oct 7 (UNI) A Public Interest Litigation(PIL) has been filed in the Allahabad High Court on Tuesday demanding stay on the illegal demolitions in Bareilly after the September 26 violence. The PIL filed has been filed by Mohammad Yusuf, president of the Khwaja Garib Nawaz Welfare Society and it alleges that properties are being bulldozed without following due process.
The PIL also demands the quashing of false FIRs filed in connection with the violence and that innocent individuals not be prosecuted. It also demands that disciplinary and criminal proceedings be initiated against the police officers responsible for the incident.
Besides it demands the unsealing of shops and houses which have been sealed following the violence, causing loss of employment.
