Bhubaneswar, June 3 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at Bahanaga Railway station by a special Airforce Helicopter from Kalaikunda Airbase to take stock of the situation following tragic train accident on Friday.
Soon after he landed at the Bahanaga helipads, the Prime Minister accompanied by Railway Minister Ashiwini Vaishnaw, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and a host of officials and security personnel walked down from the the helipad to the accident site.
He visited the affected coaches, took stock of the situation and discussed the situation with high railway officials , two union Ministers about the accident at the camp office.
Principal Secretary to Prime Minister P K Mishra also accompanied the Prime Minister.
Odisha Revenue Minister Pramila Mallik, Odisha DGP S K Bansal, SRC Satyabrata Sahu and
many senior officials were present.
He left for Balasore District Head quarter hospital after he discussed the situation with Union
Railway Minister, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Railway officials Odisha
Revenue Minister Pramila Mallik.
At Balasore district headquarter hospital, the Prime Minister is scheduled to meet and interact with injured passengers undergoing treatment. Several bodies were also kept at the hospital.
He is also likely to discuss about the treatment given to the patients with state government officials and about the accident .
Over 200 passengers are admitted to the Balasore district head quarter hospital.
From the helipad he is scheduled to return back to New Delhi.
