PM condoles demise of Nabam Atum

Itanagar, May 25 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered condolences over the demise of eminent social worker and former Chairman of Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission Nabam Atum, and said that he devoted his life towards popularising the unique cultural identity of Arunachal Pradesh.
“Shri Nabam Atum Ji was an outstanding social worker, who devoted his life towards popularising the unique cultural identity of Arunachal Pradesh. A devout patriot, he strengthened the Indigenous Faith & Cultural Society of Arunachal Pradesh through its extensive outreach. I have had the opportunity to interact with him on multiple occasions and have always respected his views and insights. Condolences to his family and admirers. Om Shanti,” PM Modi posted on X.
Nabam Atum, also the former president of Indigenous Faith and Cultural Society of Arunachal Pradesh (IFCSAP) and Arunachal Vikas Parishad (AVP), passed away on Thursday at his Doimukh (Papum Pare) residence following a prolonged illness. He was 76.

Manipur Cong demands an early resolution of crisis in Jiribam

Imphal, June 15 (UNI) The Congress party has demanded an immediate end to the crisis in Jiribam district, which has led to the displacement of about 1600 people. An advance convoy of Chief Minister N Biren Singh that went to Jiribam district was attacked by Kuki militants, which led to the injuries of three security personnel earlier. The Chief Minister has yet to visit the district.

A fire breaks out near Manipur Secretariat

Fire tenders rushed in to control the fire as the building was adjacent to the BSNL office and other important government offices. The CM’s official residence and DGP office lie on the opposite side of the fire.

NEET examiners protest in Patna, demand cancellation of exam
