Jagdalpur (Chhattisgarh), Oct 3 (UNI) In a sarcasm-laced attack on his predecessor, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wondered on Tuesday as to what Dr Manmohan Singh might be mulling at this juncture.
Addressing the BJP’s Parivartan Mahasankalp Rally in this divisional headquarters of election-bound Chhattisgarh, the visiting dignitary recalled, “Dr Singh was of the opinion that the minorities – especially Muslims – enjoyed the first right over the country’s resources.
The Congress is singing a new tune ‘jitni abadi, utna haq’. I say that the maximum segment of the population comprises the indigent. Therefore, welfare of the impoverished is my objective.”
Does the Congress now desire to reduce the rights of the minorities, the Prime Minister asked rhetorically while underlining that community-wise the Hindus are the majority.
“Should the Hindus advance to claim what is rightfully theirs? The Congress desires to widen the chasm among Bharat’s citizens. During decades in power it gave nothing to the country barring poverty and engineered social schism for the dark purpose of vote-bank politics,” Mr Modi alleged.
