PM Modi to visit Manipur tomorrow, lay foundation for several projects

New Delhi, Sept 12 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Manipur tomorrow, where he will lay foundation stone for several projects and also address a gathering, an official statement said.
This will be the Prime Minister's first visit to the strife-torn state that has witnessed ethnic violence for over two years.
During his visit, Modi will lay the foundation stone of multiple development projects worth over Rs 7,300 crore at Churachandpur.
The projects include Manipur Urban Roads, drainage and asset management improvement project worth over Rs 3,600 crore, five National Highway projects worth more than Rs 2,500 crore, Manipur Infotech Development (MIND) project, Working Women Hostels at nine locations, among others.
Modi will also inaugurate multiple development projects worth more than Rs 1,200 crore at Imphal. They include the Civil Secretariat at Mantripukhri, IT SEZ Building and New Police Headquarters at Mantripukhri; Manipur Bhawans at Delhi and Kolkata; and Ima Markets, unique all women's market, in four districts.

New Delhi, May 19 (UNI) A special court of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has convicted and sentenced to seven years of rigorous imprisonment (RI) a key accused in a terror radicalisation and recruitment case linked with the proscribed Taliban and Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) terrorist organisations.
The NIA special court in Bengaluru, Karnataka, has also imposed a fine of Rs.63,000 on Maharashtra resident Hamraz Worshid Shaikh, who pleaded guilty during the trial that began in April 2026.

In Rome, PM Modi is scheduled to hold high-level bilateral discussions with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni during his first official bilateral visit to Italy.
