Chennai,Jan 18 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday welcomed the
naming of the iconic Cultural Center in Jaffna built with Indian assistance, as
‘Thiruvalluvar Cultural Center’.
Mr Modi said it was a testament to the deep cultural, linguistic, historical and
civilisational bonds between the people of India and Sri Lanka.
Responding to a post by India In SriLanka handle on X, Mr Modi wrote "“Welcome
the naming of the iconic Cultural Center in Jaffna built with Indian assistance, as
‘Thiruvalluvar Cultural Center’."
" In addition to paying homage to the great Thiruvalluvar, it is also a testament to
the deep cultural, linguistic, historical and civilisational bonds between the people
of India and Sri Lanka”, he said.
In a post, India in Sri Lanka wrote "in honor of great Tamil poet-philospher Thiruvalluvar,
the Cultural Centre in Jaffna was today renamed as 'Thiruvallurvar Cultural Center' in a
ceremony attended by HC @sajitha, Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural
Affiars, Hon.Sunil Senevi and Governor of Northern province".
