Jammu, July 25 (UNI) Police on Thursday claimed to have cracked the blind murder case of a man in Chenani tehsil of Udhampur district in Jammu and Kashmir.
The police spokesman said that an information was received on July 21 that one male dead body was lying in the Mando Ban area of Nagulta in Chenani following which a case was registered and investigation is taken up.
The body was later identified as Liaqat Ali, resident of Narsoo, Udhampur.
The spokesman added that during the course of enquiry, police team headed by Station House Officer, Inspector Pushpinder Singh under the supervision of SDPO Chenani, Tahir Sheikh Amin detained some suspects and during the sustained questioning, one of them namely Balwinder Singh, resident of Chirdi, Tehsil Chenani confessed that he had murdered the deceased over some dispute on money.
The inquest proceeding was converted into murder and the accused person has also been arrested and further investigation of the case is underway.
