Police reconstruct crime scene of Durgapur gang-rape case

Durgapur, Oct 14 (UNI) After arresting all five suspects, Police today started reconstructing the crime scene in Durgapur, taking two prime accused to the forested area of Parangunj village where a 23-year-old MBBS student from Odisha was abducted and allegedly gang-raped on Friday night.
The Durgapur-Asansol Township Police also visited the homes in Bijara village of the two arrested suspects, Sheikh Nasiruddin and Sheikh Riazuddin, and seized the clothes they had worn on October 10, the day of the crime, in the locality.
The police team, headed by Deputy Commissioner of Police Abhishek Gupta, took the two prime accused along with a medical student to the crime scene near Kalibari crematorium in Parangunj forest and recreated the crime scene for recording scientific evidence. Forensic experts were also present during the investigation process.
