Moscow, Oct 8 (UNI) Russia will be happy to see the leaders of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) at the BRICS outreach meeting, which will be held on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in the Russian city of Kazan in October, President Vladimir Putin said on Tuesday.
"We will be glad to see you, esteemed colleagues, at the outreach/BRICS+ meeting, which will take place in Kazan from October 23-24," Putin told the leaders of the CIS countries in a speech at the expanded CIS summit.
The meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the CIS took place in Moscow on Tuesday and was chaired by Putin. It was attended by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, Kyrgyz leader Sadyr Japarov, Uzbek and Turkmen presidents Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Serdar Berdimuhamedov, as well as Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
