Rahul Gandhi intervention sought as Bidadi township land row explodes

Bengaluru, June 17 (UNI) The Bidadi township land acquisition row has erupted into a full-blown political confrontation in Karnataka, with BJP and JD(S) leaders seeking intervention from Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over the controversial Greater Bengaluru Integrated Township (GBIT) project.
Opposition leaders have urged Rahul Gandhi to step in and halt or review the proposed acquisition of nearly 500 acres in the first phase, part of a massive 7,400–7,500 acre township plan spanning Bidadi and Harohalli.
They allege the project is being pushed without meaningful consent from farmers and in violation of land acquisition norms.

Telangana CEO directs officials to expedite electoral roll revision

Sudharsan Reddy on Tuesday directed district election officials to expedite the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 of electoral rolls and ensure that over 90 per cent of the enumeration process is completed by the end of this week.
