Rahul Gandhi's UP visit nothing more than political tourism: UP Minister Aseem Arun

Lucknow, Oct 17 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Social Welfare Minister Aseem Arun today attacked Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over the latter's visit to Fatehpur to meet the family of a Dalit lynching victim, terming Rahul Gandhi's UP visit as nothing more than political tourism.
The minister clearly stated that the October 2 lynching of Dalit man Hari Om Valmiki was not a caste-based crime. He said the incident in Fatehpur is extremely tragic and sensitive, but linking it to caste is unfortunate. The accused include people from all sections of society, and no one knew the victim's caste. Rahul Gandhi is unsuccessfully trying to give it a caste-based color, he alleged.
Rahul Gandhi has accused the Uttar Pradesh administration of intimidating the family of Valmiki and trying to block his visit.
