Hubballi, Mar 18 (UNI) Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi will visit Belagavi on March 20 and address a rally attended by an estimated gathering of 2 lakh people, including party workers from North Karnataka region.
Addressing reporters here on Saturday, KPCC Working President Saleem Ahmad said during the scheduled public meeting, Rahul Gandhi is likely to announce Congress party's future course of action.
On the upcoming elections in the state, Ahmad said that according to the results indicated by the survey conducted by the party and the response being received from the public everywhere, the Congress will win more than 140 seats and form the government.
Ahmad said the first name list of the Congress party candidates to contest the upcoming elections to the state assembly will be announced on March 21.
Alleging that the Karnataka BJP government has failed to fulfill its promises with regard to providing houses, employment and eradicate corruption. He also demanded appointment of a high court judge to probe corruption in government offices.
Ahmad said that instead of Vijaya Sankalp Yatra, BJP should hold Kshama Yatra for not controlling high price rise and unemployment in the country.
