Rajnath highlights India’s progress towards Aatmanirbhar in defence sector, urges youth to build unicorn start-ups

New Delhi, Oct 7 (UNI) Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today emphasized that India’s journey toward self-reliance in Defence sector has moved beyond mere policies and declarations to tangible action, significant impact and global recognition.
Speaking at the Conference on Opportunities of Defence Manufacturing in the Country, Rajnath Singh highlighted the progress of the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative, stating “The journey of Aatmanirbhar Bharat has progressed from policy to practice, and from innovation to impact”.
Refering to young entrepreneurs and innovators, the Minister acknowledged their crucial role in this journey so far and expressed confidence that they will continue to drive the sector forward with the same zeal and dedication.

NIA court sentences key accused in Pakistan Taliban linked terror radicalisation case to seven yrs RI

New Delhi, May 19 (UNI) A special court of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has convicted and sentenced to seven years of rigorous imprisonment (RI) a key accused in a terror radicalisation and recruitment case linked with the proscribed Taliban and Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) terrorist organisations.
The NIA special court in Bengaluru, Karnataka, has also imposed a fine of Rs.63,000 on Maharashtra resident Hamraz Worshid Shaikh, who pleaded guilty during the trial that began in April 2026.

In Rome, PM Modi is scheduled to hold high-level bilateral discussions with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni during his first official bilateral visit to Italy.
