Rebel RLSP leaders hold meeting ahead of organisational polls

Patna, Jul 30 (UNI) The ongoing wrangling in the Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP), an ally of NDA, intensified today when rebel party leaders boycotted a meeting convened by party chief and Union Minister Upendra Kushwaha and held a parallel meeting here. Party MLA Lalan Paswan, considered as a close associate of rebel party MP Arun Kumar, discussed the party`s affairs with rebel party leaders and workers and decided to hold a 'party convention' on August 17 to decide the future course of action. After the meeting, Mr Paswan claimed that RLSP being 'led' by Mr Kumar was the real RLSP as majority of party leaders and workers were disgruntled with Mr Kushwaha's style of functioning. Bihar unit of RLSP is virtually in a fix ever since Mr Kushwaha sacked Mr Kumar from the post of state party president and dissolved the party's state unit, nearly one month back. On the other hand, Mr Kushwaha announced dates for the party's organisational polls. Election to the post of state party president and the 40-member party national council would be held on September 18. Election to the party's national president would be held in New Delhi on September 25. UNI DH PY RJ 2152
