Rohit scripts twin records, becomes oldest Indian ODI cricketer, joins 16,000-run opener club

Dharamsala, June 13 (UNI) Former India captain Rohit Sharma created history on Saturday with a remarkable double milestone during the rain-hit first ODI against Afghanistan at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium.
Rohit became the oldest male cricketer to represent India in One-Day Internationals, taking the field at the age of 39 years and 75 days. In doing so, he surpassed a 37-year-old record held by former India all-rounder Mohinder Amarnath, who last played an ODI in 1989 at 39 years and 36 days.
The landmark came in a match heavily disrupted by rain, with the start delayed from 1:30 PM to 5:45 PM before being reduced to a 25-overs-per-side contest.
