RS Dy Chairman Harivansh champions Global South Unity and Climate Action at Commonwealth Assembly

New Delhi, Oct 11 (UNI) Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh today called for stronger solidarity among Global South nations to confront mounting climate challenges.
Speaking at the 68th Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) General Assembly under the theme ‘The Commonwealth – A Global Partner,’ he highlighted India’s dedication to collaborating with Commonwealth countries—particularly Small Island Developing States (SIDS)- to bolster climate resilience and advance sustainable energy solutions.
“Climate change impacts us all. Green Growth must be our shared future,” Harivansh asserted. “We must stand united with our friends in the Global South, especially Small Island Developing States, who bear the brunt of climate change, facing existential threats from rising sea levels.”
