Ruling TVK-backed Praveen Chakravarthy of Cong declared elected unopposed to Rajya Sabha from TN

Chennai, June 11 (UNI) With the backing of the ruling TVK headed by Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay, All India Professionals' Congress Chairperson Praveen Chakravarthy was declared elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha from the Tamil Nadu Assembly on the last day for withdrawals on Thursday afternoon.
Of the total 13 nominations filed for the lone seat, only the papers filed by Praveen were found to be in order during scrutiny on June 9, while those filed by 12 Independents were rejected.
Since he was lone official candidate left in the fray, he was declared elected unopposed by Returning Officer Ms.P.Thenmozhi, who is also the Additional Secretary of the Legislative Assembly Secretariat. Following his victory, Praveen also received the election certificate from her.

Hyderabad/New Delhi, July 22 (UNI) union Coal and Mines Minister G Kishan Reddy on Wednesday welcomed the Centre's decision to increase rice procurement from Telangana by an additional 8 lakh metric tonnes, raising the target from 35 lakh metric tonnes to 43 lakh metric tonnes (equivalent to 64 lakh metric tonnes of paddy) for the Kharif Marketing Season 2025-26.
