Russian President Vladimir Putin to hold talks with Syrian interim leader Ahmed al-Sharaa in Moscow

Moscow/Damascus, Oct 15 (UNI) Russian President Putin will hold talks with Syrian transitional President Ahmed al-Sharaa today, in a bid to renew the Moscow-Damascus cooperation in defence, energy, and economy.
In the first Russian visit of the interim leader, the topics on the discussion roster include strengthening Russian-Syrian ties across political, economic, and humanitarian fields, as well as reviewing the latest developments in the Middle East.
Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov also noted that the talks would address the status of Russian military bases in Syria.
