Sanction loans of beneficiaries in time, APEBDC chairman to banks

Jalna, Jun 19 (UNI) Chairman of Annasaheb Patil Economic Backward Development Corporation (APEBDC), Narendra Patil, on Wednesday asked banks to process the loan approval proposals of eligible beneficiaries in an easy manner and in time for benefit of the personal loan interest repayment scheme.
Speaking at a review meeting of Corporation held at collector's office here, he said that through APEBDC, personal loan interest repayment scheme and group project interest repayment scheme are being implemented for youth to start businesses.
These are ambitious schemes of the government, these schemes should be publicized so that maximum beneficiaries can benefit from these schemes, he said and informed that loan interest repayment scheme for self-employment is implemented by the Corporation mainly for the Maratha category and for those categories for whom a separate corporation does not exist.
Through these schemes implemented by APEBDC, loans of Rs 7,330 crore have been sanctioned for 92,144 beneficiaries in the state for industry, he informed.
On other hand, 84,009 beneficiaries have been given interest refund amounting to Rs 768 crore, he pointed.
Asking banks to understand these schemes, he said that there should be no delay in availing benefits of these schemes to eligible beneficiaries, he noted.
"If there are errors in the proposal, it should be resolved immediately. Proposals should not be kept pending unnecessarily," he said.
While appreciating the work of private and cooperative banks, he said that nationalized banks should pay serious attention and dispose of pending and new cases promptly, added Patil.
In the meeting, Patil learned about difficulties of bank officials and also problems of beneficiaries whose proposals are pending.
