SC dismisses plea to direct farmers to clear highway blockades

New Delhi, Dec 9 (UNI) The Supreme Court on Monday dismissed a plea seeking directions to Centre and others to clear blockades on highways in Punjab where farmers are staging protests saying that the matter is already under consideration.
A bench comprising Justice Surya Kant and Justice Manmohan while refusing to hear the plea said, “We are already dealing with this. It gives the wrong impression to us.
"We have already taken some initiatives. Despite that, you file this petition...impression is someone is here to play for the gallery, for publicity litigation," the Court said.
