SC to hear PIL seeking court-monitored probe into alleged Rs 20,000 crore banking fraud involving Reliance Communications and Anil Ambani

New Delhi, Nov 17 (UNI) The Supreme Court Monday agreed to urgently list a public interest litigation seeking a court-monitored investigation into what has been described as one of the country’s largest banking frauds, allegedly involving Reliance Communications Ltd., its group entities, and their promoter Anil Ambani.
The PIL, filed under Article 32 by former union Secretary E A S Sarma, alleges massive diversion of bank funds, forgery, fabrication of accounts, use of shell companies and coordinated financial misconduct across the Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (ADAG).
Appearing for the petitioner, Advocate Prashant Bhushan mentioned the matter before Chief Justice of India B.R. Gavai and sought urgent hearing, submitting that the alleged fraud amounts to nearly Rs 20,000 crore and requires an independent, court-monitored probe.

SC reserves verdict on bail pleas of six accused in Delhi riots larger conspiracy case

New Delhi, Dec 10 (UNI) The Supreme Court on Wednesday reserved its verdict on the bail petitions filed by six accused, Umar Khalid, Sharjeel Imam, Gulfisha Fatima, Meeran Haider, Shadab Ahmed, and Mohd Saleem Khan in the Delhi riots larger conspiracy case of 2020.
A Bench comprising Justice Aravind Kumar and Justice NV Anjaria concluded the extensive hearing. It directed the parties to compile and submit all documents by December 18, making it clear that the Court intends to decide the matter before the winter recess beginning December 19.
