Schneider Electric plans Rs 623 cr expansion of Hyderabad facilities

Davos/Hyderabad, Jan 22 (UNI) In another major investment gain for Telangana at the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2026, the Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy-led ‘Telangana Rising’ delegation held discussions with Deepak Sharma, CEO of Schneider Electric India, during which the company explored expansion plans for its facilities in the state with an investment of Rs 623 crore.
Schneider Electric India will invest the amount to expand its existing manufacturing units at Gagillapur and Shamshabad in Telangana.
The expansion will enhance production capacity for key electrical safety products such as Air Circuit Breakers (ACB), Moulded Case Circuit Breakers (MCCB), contactors, and push buttons, officials said.
The meeting also focused on Telangana’s long-term goals in energy transition and storage, with the delegation and Schneider Electric discussing potential collaboration in grid modernisation, energy efficiency, and digital power management for industrial parks and urban infrastructure.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expressed happiness over the investment and credited IT & Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu for securing the proposal.
He said sustainability remains a key pillar of Telangana’s roadmap towards achieving Net-Zero development by 2047.
Minister Sridhar Babu said Telangana has emerged as one of India’s fastest-growing hubs for electronics manufacturing, spanning consumer electronics, telecom hardware, industrial electronics and advanced electronic systems.
The delegation also discussed plans to expand smart-factory capabilities in Telangana for energy management, automation, and EV-related components.
Deepak Sharma noted that Schneider Electric has 38 development centres for skilling in Telangana and reiterated the company’s strong presence in the state. Schneider Electric is a global leader in energy management, industrial automation, and digital transformation solutions, he said, according to an official statement on Thursday.
