New Delhi, Nov 28 (UNI) National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on Monday said it issued a notice to Maharashtra government on the alleged sexual exploitation at a shelter home in Nashik.
Taking suo motu cognizance of media reports that more girls have alleged sexual exploitation at a children’s shelter home in Nashik, the Rights body has issued notices to the state Chief Secretary and the Director General of Police calling for a detailed report in the matter within six weeks.
The report is expected to include the status of the FIR, by specifying penal offences involved in the case, progress and outcome of investigation, arrest of the accused, health status of the victim girls and monetary relief/rehabilitation if any, provided by the state authorities to the victims, the NHRC said in a statement.
