Shivdurg Savardhan threatens not to let England play T-20 cricket series in Pune in March

Kolhapur, Feb 23 (UNI) The Shivdurg Savardhan Andolan (SSA) on Tuesday announced that it would not allow the touring England cricket team to play the T-20 cricket series with India in Pune next month with a view to draw the attention of the Queen of England and the central government to bring back the famed Bhavani Talwar (sword) of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj from the United Kingdom.
In a press statement here, Harshal Surve, president of SSA, said that the Bhavani Talwar of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, which was with Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj (IV) of Kolhapur royal family, was gifted to the Prince of Wales (Edward VII) during his visit to the country in 1875-76.
Now, the sword is kept at the Albert Museum in London, UK, as a part of the Royal Collection Trust of the Royal family, he said.
