Sigma Advanced Systems Bags Rs 208 Cr Defence Export Order

Hyderabad, June 8 (UNI) Sigma Advanced Systems has secured an export contract worth USD 21.97 million (around Rs 208 crore) for the manufacture and supply of 40,000 units of 155 mm M107 artillery shell bodies to a North American customer.
The company release today said the contract would be executed over a six-month period, with production and deliveries scheduled within the timeframe. The order marks Sigma's expansion from fuze manufacturing into complete artillery shell component production.
The project involves manufacturing 155 mm artillery shell bodies, a key structural component used in modern artillery ammunition systems. The company said the required export authorisation from the Department of Defence Production under the Ministry of Defence has already been obtained.
Commenting on the development, Sigma Advanced Systems CEO and Executive Director Sunil Kalidindi said the order reflected growing international confidence in India's defence manufacturing ecosystem and Sigma's precision engineering capabilities.
The company stated that the order strengthens its position in the global defence supply chain and opens opportunities for future ammunition manufacturing programmes.
