Six killed, four injured as tourist vehicle plunges into gorge in Himachal’s Chamba

Shimla, May 11 (UNI) Six people, including five tourists from Gujarat, were killed and four others injured after a tourist vehicle plunged into a deep gorge in Himachal Pradesh’s Chamba district in the early hours of Monday.
The accident occurred near Kakira on the Lahru-Tunnuhatti road in Bhattiyat subdivision when a Toyota Innova carrying 10 occupants skidded off the road and fell into a nearly 300-metre-deep gorge.
According to police, the tourists were travelling from Manali to Dalhousie when the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a sharp curve. Heavy rainfall in the area is also suspected to have contributed to the mishap.
