SMB files FIR for illegally collecting money from street vendors

Shillong, June 24 (UNI) The Chief Executive Officer of Shillong Municipal Board (SMB), P K Boro, has lodged an FIR against a person for illegally collecting money from street vendors.
The FIR was lodged on Monday after the municipal board received information that the person has been collecting money with a fake SMB receipt from street vendors under the pretext of registering the vendors.
The Town Vending Committee, through SMB, is currently conducting surveys and registrations of street vendors in the state capital as per the provisions of the Meghalaya Street Vending (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending) Scheme, 2023.
