Space technologies should benefit every citizen: Dr Jitendra Singh

New Delhi, Sept 8 (UNI) Emphasizing space technologies must ultimately serve the common citizen, union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh, today said, “Space is not just about exploration; its true value lies in its applications that touch every aspect of everyday life — from agriculture and healthcare to education, urban planning, and governance.”
The union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences was speaking at the inauguration of the International Conference on Space 2025, themed 'Harnessing Space for Global Progress: Innovation, Policy, and Growth.'
In his keynote address delivered virtually, Dr Singh laid out a transformative vision for India’s space programme, setting forth ambitious targets including the establishment of a Bharatiya space station by 2035 and sending an Indian astronaut to the Moon by 2040.
