Sridhar Babu urges Centre to set up additional PSK in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Sep 16 (UNI) Telangana IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu today appealed to the union Government to establish another Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) in Hyderabad to meet citizens' rising demands.
After inaugurating the new Passport Seva Kendra at Rayadurgam, the Minister said the city is expanding rapidly in all directions and with its growing population, the need for stronger public service infrastructure - particularly in the passport segment, has become pressing.
“Across the country, more than one crore people apply for fresh passports every year, and Telangana alone accounts for nearly 11 lakh of these applications,” he noted. While applicants earlier had to wait for months, he said the Telangana Police now completes verification within three days, making the State a role model for others.
