Stage collapses partially in Bihar's Paliganj; Rahul Gandhi escapes unhurt

Paliganj, May 27 ( UNI) Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Leader of Opposition in Bihar Tejaswi Prasad Yadav had a narrow escape when the stage collapsed partially at Paliganj in Patna district on Monday.
Gandhi was scheduled to address a rally in favour of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav's daughter Misa Bharti contesting from Patliputra Lok Sabha constituency on Monday afternoon. Soon after Gandhi along with Tejaswi Yadav and Misa Bharti reached the makeshift stage, it collapsed partially at the centre due to overloading.
The SPG and security personnel tried to protect Gandhi, who waved his hand towards the crowd ensuring them that he was fine. When Misa Bharati holding the hands of Gandhi moved towards the one end of the stage , a portion of it again collapsed. However, they were saved and remained unhurt.
Tejasvi Yadav, who is having some problem in his lower limbs, was also seen being taken away by some of his supporters.
Later some safe alternative arrangements were made at the stage for the leaders.
After addressing a rally in Bakhtiyarpur of Patna Sahib Lok Sabha seat during the day, Gandhi along with Tejaswi had arrived to Paliganj to address the rally where the portion of the stage collapsed.
