Sangli (Maharashtra), Jan 27 (UNI) Union road transport and highway minister Nitin Gadkari on Friday appealed to the cooperative and private sugar factories to come forward to produce ethanol directly from sugarcane juice as ethanol is becoming a fuel of the future.
Gadkari, who was addressing a function of 'Bhumipujan' of 41.25 Km Peth Baka to Sangli road at Astha town this evening, said that following increasing demand of ethanol as fuel, if ethanol produced from sugarcane juice directely, it will be benefited to sugarcane producer farmers as well as to sugar factories and cooperative and private sugar factories should come forward to produce ethanol from sugarcane juice.
Gadkari said that central government has introduced a harvesting scheme for farmers , which would used for raising sugarcane recivery. While along with ethanol Hydrogen also as fuel of future and farmers should come forward for produce it also and expressed confidence that the western Maharashtra would become hub of producing hydrogen in future.
