Survey to be conducted for Dodra-Kwar and Kotkhai-Hatkoti Tunnels: HP CM

Shimla. June 3 (UNI) Surveys would be conducted for construction of Kotkhai-Hatkoti underneath Kharapatthar and Dodra-Kwar tunnels, which would hugely benefit the people of these areas in Himachal Pradesh, according to Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu.
He said efforts would be made to connect Kwar with Uttarakhand. He also announced opening of Adarsh Health Institute in Rohru. This was his maiden visit to Rohru on Friday after assuming the office of the Chief Minster.
The Chief Minister reiterated that the exploitation of apple orchardists by middle men would not be tolerated. A provision of Rs 100 crore has been made in the current budget for setting up 10 Cold Atmosphere (CA) stores in the State and tendering process is underway.

Srinagar, July 17 (UNI) A day after Jammu & Kashmir Director General of Police R R Swain's remarks wherein he accused regional parties of facilitating Pakistan’s “infiltration into civil society” and “hobnobbing with terrorists for political gains”, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Vijay Kumar said J&K Police is “apolitical” force and works on “impartial basis.”
AGDP law and order Kumar said that DGP’s statement may have been his personal opinion.

Srinagar, July 17 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir police have filed a case under stringent Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) against unknown persons for allegedly raising Hezbollah flags and slogans during 8th Muharram procession on Monday in Srinagar.

Police said the FIR was registered as there was a clear violation of guidelines that were issued by the administration for the Muharram procession that passed through the centre of Srinagar and was attended by thousands of the Shia mourners.
