In an update, Met office said as Well Marked Low Pressure Area over North Tamilnadu and Puducherry coast and neighbourhood moved slowly westwards and weekend into a Low Pressure area over North Tamilnadu and became less marked at 0830 hrs today, the associated cyclonic circulation also has become less marked.

According to IMD, this weather system is moving toward the Andhra–Tamil Nadu shoreline at a speed of around 17 km per hour. As a result, heavy rains are expected along the coastal regions of both states, including Puducherry, while the Konkan belt in Maharashtra may witness intense showers.
