Telangana govt, Blaize iign MoU at Davos to drive breakthrough Innovation in Applied AI

Hyderabad/ Davos, Jan 24 (UNI) The Telangana government and Blaize Inc. have signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the ongoing World Economic Forum in Davos, marking a significant step toward advancing applied AI solutions.
The collaboration will be facilitated through Aikam™, the Government of Telangana’s newly established autonomous, unified global AI innovation entity, an official release said here today.
Under the MoU, Blaize plans to set up a Research & Development (R&D) Centre at Aikam, focused on highly efficient AI computing to support real-world AI initiatives aligned with both private sector and state priorities.
The partnership is expected to drive applied research and deployment-ready AI projects.
The agreement also outlines a framework for collaboration with relevant departments and ministries of the Government of Telangana.
Any initiatives arising from this collaboration may progress into implementation projects through separate, project-specific agreements, detailing scope, funding, and deliverables in line with applicable policies and regulations.
Aikam aims to be a globally recognized autonomous entity, unifying talent, startup acceleration, capital, and research & industry co-innovation to translate AI into real-world impact.
Through this collaboration, Telangana seeks to combine advanced AI computing capabilities with domain-specific applications to address critical societal challenges, support economic growth, enhance sustainability, and improve public service outcomes.
The Government of Telangana, through Aikam and relevant departments, will work with Blaize to identify, structure, and advance initiatives toward deployment, facilitating necessary approvals under state policies.
Speaking on the occasaion, Sanjay Kumar, Special Chief Secretary, Department of Information Technology, Electronics & Communications (ITE&C) and Department of Industries & Commerce, Government of Telangana, said: " This collaboration provides a structured pathway to explore AI-driven initiatives across critical sectors. By working through specific projects with Blaize, we aim to responsibly evaluate and deploy solutions that improve efficiency, resilience, and public outcomes."
Dinakar Munagala, Co-Founder and CEO of Blaize, said: "This MoU with the Government of Telangana represents a meaningful step toward making applied AI real, scalable, and impactful.
