Telangana Gram Panchayat polls: SEC declares second-phase results

Hyderabad, Dec 15 (UNI) The State Election Commission (SEC) on Monday announced the results of the second phase of the three-phase Gram Panchayat elections held across Telangana on Sunday.
Polling in the second phase was conducted from 0700 hours to 1300 hours for 3,911 sarpanch posts and 19,917 ward member seats. Counting began at 1400 hours on Sunday and continued into Monday, after which the results were declared.
In this phase, notifications had been issued for elections to 4,333 village panchayat sarpanch posts and 38,350 ward member posts. Of these, 414 sarpanch posts and 8,307 ward member posts were filled unanimously.
