Telangana Information Dept gave Ande Sri national platform: Phani Kumar

Hyderabad, Dec 14 (UNI) Retired IAS officer and former Special Commissioner of the Information and Public Relations Department, G N Phani Kumar, today said that it was the Information Department that introduced people’s poet Ande Sri to a wider audience.
Speaking at the annual get-together of retired employees of the Information and Public Relations Department of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh held at the Rangareddy District Zilla Parishad office in Khairatabad, Phani Kumar recalled that though Ande Sri was already a noted poet, the department played a key role in bringing his work to the forefront in 2001 by commissioning him to write songs.
He said Ande Sri had penned several inspiring songs for the Mahila Janmabhoomi programme at the department’s request, while making it clear that he would not write anything against Telangana.

Kerala tourism opens all-India photo exhibition ‘Lenscape Kerala’

Kerala Tourism Minister PA Mohamed Riyas will inaugurate the exhibition at Travancore Palace Art Gallery, New Delhi, at 4:30 pm on January 20.
