Telangana: Speaker gives clean chit to two more MLAs in defection petitions, says they remain in BRS

Hyderabad, Jan 15 (UNI) Telangana Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar on Thursday gave a clean chit to two more MLAs facing allegations of party defection, ruling that Banswada MLA Pocharam Srinivas Reddy and Chevella MLA Kale Yadaiah continue to remain with the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS).
Announcing his verdict, the Speaker said there was no evidence to establish that the two legislators had switched parties. He added that both would be recognised as BRS MLAs, and said the relevant orders would be issued shortly.
Several hearings were conducted in connection with the disqualification petitions filed against the two MLAs. After hearing arguments from both sides, the Speaker concluded that the material placed before him was not sufficient to prove defection.
