Telangana to set up pre-marital counselling centres in all districts: Minister

Hyderabad, Oct 17 (UNI) Amid rising marriage-related complaints being reported to the Telangana State Women’s Commission and Sakhi One Stop Centres, the Telangana government has decided to establish pre-marital counseling centres (PMCCs) across all districts.
The move aims to address growing issues such as the lack of understanding between couples, parental interference, divorces, and the psychological distress in children.
Women and Child Welfare Minister Dr Danasari Anasuya Seethakka on Friday signed the file approving the establishment of these centres. She said in earlier times, elders and relatives offered guidance before and after marriage, but urbanisation, smaller families, and the erosion of intergenerational bonds have led to a vacuum in such support systems.
