Thousands witness Makaravilakku, Makara Jyothi at Sabarimala

Sabarimala, Jan 14 (UNI) Thousands of devotees thronged the Lord Ayyappa temple on Wednesday evening to witness the sacred Makaravilakku rituals and the much-awaited Makara Jyothi Darshan, marking the spiritual culmination of the annual Mandala-Makaravilakku pilgrimage season.
As the Makara Jyothi appeared in the eastern sky and the Makara Vilakku illuminated the Ponnambalmedu hills, chants of “Swamiye Saranam Ayyappa” reverberated across the eighteen sacred hillocks, surrounding forests, and the temple precincts.
Groups of devotees, many from other states, had camped at various vantage points to witness the celestial and ceremonial spectacle.

with a revenue deficit of Rs. 48,696.32 crore in the state assembly
Since the state is all set to face the assembly elections in two months, the DMK government presented the Interim Budget
and the full budget would be presented after the next government assume office.

Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 17 (UNI) Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Tuesday asserted that the State is on a decisive and stable path towards achieving economic standards comparable with the world’s leading middle-income countries.
Addressing leading industrialists at the sixth meeting of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Southern Regional Council, the Chief Minister said the state has laid a strong foundation for higher growth by expanding equity, dignity and opportunity.

Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 17 (UNI) The Annual Commanders’ Conference of the Southern Air Command (SAC), chaired by Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, underscored the need to strengthen operational efficiency, reinforce air defence capabilities across the southern peninsula, and expand India’s strategic presence in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR).
Held under the theme “Operational Efficiency through Decision Autonomy,” the conference reflected the evolving warfighting philosophy of the Indian Air Force (IAF), emphasising decentralised leadership and faster decision-making at field levels.
