Train services affected due to derailment of goods train under Katihar division in Bengal

Siliguri (West Bengal), Aug 9 (UNI) Train services in the New Jalpaiguri - Malda Town - Katihar sections of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) were affected on Friday owing to derailment of a goods train at about 10.45 am in the Kumedpur station under Katihar division, official sources said.
There had been no casualty in the derailment but the impact was huge as the NFR authorities were forced to cancel, divert or short terminate and regulated many long distance passenger trains on the section.
As a result of the derailment, the following trains are being cancelled, diverted, short terminated and regulated.
The cancellation of trains:14563 (Balurghat – Siliguri Jn.) Intercity express, the 15709 (Malda Town – New Jalpaiguri) Intercity express commencing journey on 9th August, 2024.
Train No 22301 (Howrah – New Jalpaiguri) Vande Bharat Express, train no. 13174 (Sabroom – Sealdah) Kanchenjunga Express, train no. 12364 (Haldibari – Kolkata) Intercity Express, train no 15644 (Kamakhya – Puri) Express & train no 15648 (Delhi – Alipurduar Jn.) Mahananda Express will be diverted via Katihar.
Train no. 05728/05729 (Radhikapur – Katihar – Radhikapur) Passenger Special will be diverted via Dandkhora and Mukuria.
Short Termination/Partial Cancellation: Train no. 15710 (New Jalpaiguri – Malda Town) Intercity Express will be short terminated at Khurial and will remain partially cancelled between Khurial and Malda Town. Train no. 15464 (Siliguri Jn. – Balurghat) Intercity Express will be short terminated at Dalkhola and will remain partially cancelled between Dalkhola and Balurghat.
Train no. 07520 (Siliguri Jn. – Malda Court) DEMU will be short terminated at Kishanganj and will remain partially cancelled between Kishanganj and Malda Court.
Train no. 07519 (Malda Court – Siliguri Jn.) DEMU will be short terminated at Kumedpur Jn. and will remain partially cancelled between Kumedpur Jn and Siliguri Jn.
Regulation of trains:
Train no. 13173 (Sealdah – Sabroom) Kanchanjunga Express, train no. 13053 (Howrah Jn – Radhikapur) Kulik Express and train no. 03105 (Sealdah – Jagiroad) AC special will be regulated at Malda Town.
Rescheduling of train:
Train no. 22302 (New Jalpaiguri – Howrah) Vande Bharat Express commencing journey on 9th August, 2024 will depart from New Jalpaiguri at 17:00 hours instead of 15:00 hours.
